What does a ride leader do?
Ride leaders are responsible for planning and managing our group rides.
What does a ride leader do?
- arrive 15-20 minutes before the ride starts
- come armed with a pen/pencil and your Ride Sheet will be provided, check and add any additional riders
- circulate the ride sheet amongst the riders ensuring everyone's emergency contact is correct
- check everyone is wearing a helmet
- give an introduction to the ride (route, pace, notable sections)
- be familiar with the planned route
- lead the ride by example, riding safely and obeying the highway code
- make sure the group stays together - no one gets dropped
- see the Ride Leader Handbook for more details
- If you're interested in becoming a ride leader for Swan Wheelers, please let a member of the committee know.
